Join us for a one day pottery taster experience, three day workshop, or termly classes, creating unique hand-made pottery in a characterful and inspiring space.

Perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike. Whether you are looking to explore a new hobby, unwind after a busy week or develop your skills in ceramics, from hand-building to wheel throwing you will learn the fundamental techniques.

Introduction to pottery (1 day taster session)

Mixed ability day class, where you make a vessel, explore the three main making methods, and practice some surface decoration.

£75 for the day


Last Saturday of the month, 10:00 – 15:00

Explore diverse methods (8 weeks)

Various making methods, including coiling, slab work, and wheel work. Finishing techniques and surface decoration. Sculpture classes on Tuesdays.

£300 for 8 sessions

Intensive workshop (3 consecutive days)

Three-day course, with experienced tutor and artist Beth Blackburn.

£375 for 3 days.

Summer pottery workshop (4 weeks)

Four relaxed creative workshop sessions, one each week over four weeks. Open to all levels.

£150 for 4 sessions.

Welcome to Ceramics at Brenley – a freshly renovated ceramics studio in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside.

Nestled on a working hop farm, the brand new artists studio offers a creative escape like no other.

Founded by a professional sculptor and a small batch maker of contemporary domestic ware, the studio blends artistic expertise with a love of hand-crafted simplicity.

The studio provides a peaceful inspiring space to explore clay – come and join in and be part of a growing creative community rooted in nature, craft, and calm.

Situated just off the A2/M2 within easy reach from Faversham, Ashford, Canterbury, Deal, Dover, Maidstone, Whitstable & London.

Beth Blackburn

Beth’s sculptures encourage personal interpretation, reflecting how art and emotion intertwine. With ten years’ teaching experience, she now shares the therapeutic power of clay, guiding others to discover their own creative voice in every coil and curve.

What we’ll make

We offer tuition in all areas of ceramics, and will explore clay in a group setting using examples, demonstrations, discussion and encouragement to help you create your own unique pieces be that through hand-building (coiling, slab, figurative), wheel throwing or abstract sculpture.
